Why gymnastics?

Studies show that youth athletes are better students, have stronger social skills, and are more motivated and successful employees when they enter the workforce. Click HERE to read an article  about the benefits of being a student-gymnast, then read the Special Groups options below.

Special Groups

Available for preschool-high school.

Choose from two different formats!

 

Open Play:

  • Children are allowed to play on the equipment freely, similar to our Public Hour events. 

  • $5-$8 per person per hour with minimum of 10 guests.

  • An adult/ teacher/ daycare provider employed at the attending organization must remain present in the facility throughout the event.

3 Versions of Structured Class:

  1. Children learn the same skill sets as their age appropriate DSG recreational class level. 

    • $70 per child for an 8 class session, with a minimum of 5 children ages 3-12.

    • (We recommend no more than a full two year age gap between children in the same class. I.E. Ages 3-5 or 10-12)

    • An adult/ teacher/ daycare provider employed at the attending organization must remain present in the facility throughout the event.​​

  2. Children work on advanced strength and agility needed for success in other sports. 

  3. Children work on tumbling skills for dance or cheer routines. NOTE: For the safety of the athletes, strength elements are included and drills are/may be used at the coaches' discretion.

Who can reserve a private class?

​

Daycares, headstarts, preschools, grade schools, home school groups, church groups, traditional sports groups, dance teams, cheer squads, and other organizations are welcome at Dakota Star!

 

Rent our facility for field trips, fitness options, or gymnastics skill classes. Please call to schedule your event or class(es) a minimum of two weeks in advance for staffing purposes.

Tips for an easy experience

1. Families should MAKE SURE you get a confirmation email for any enrollment or party reservation you make! This is proof of your transaction in case there is a glitch in the system. 

​

2. Double check that the birthdate and YEAR are accurate on your child's profile in your account; our classes are restricted by age, so an incorrect birth date will limit their eligibility for class enrollment. It is also good to double check that his/her name is spelled correctly. 

​

3. You can add your child to the waitlist for ANY regular recreational level class. You are welcome to add him/her to the next level(s) to shorten his/her wait when he/she is ready to move up!

​

4. As long as you received a confirmation email, the transaction was successful and your spot is saved in the system. There is no need to call or email about your pending enrollment! You can always check your enrollments in your Customer Portal account. (Note: this will not show your official position on the waitlist, but will confirm that you are on the list.)
